Welcome to the Potomac Valley Chapter's website!
We are glad you found us.
Reasons to join us are:
- We have received the Chapter of Distiction for the last 4 years from
the Alumni Association given to the top Alumni Chapters. The latest in January 2009.
- We are an award-winning Chapter! Most recently, the National Service Week
Awad from the Penn State Alumni Association.
- We provide a great way to interact with other Penn Staters and Penn State
and to continue as an active part of the Penn State family.
- We give you a way to give back to the community in the name of Penn State.
- A set place (Bentz Street Sports Bar) to gather and watch our Nittany
Lions!

Chapter Scholarship Winners Chosen!
Thanks to our Members who support
the Chapter’s Gail Pope-Patterson Scholarship with their donations, we will be awarding 2 scholarships at the Freshmen
Sendoff Picnic. The scholarship winners are:

Macy Appleby from Linganore High School. Macy is heading off to Penn State to achieve her goal of studying
meteorology – what a great place to do that! Macy took several advanced placement classes, worked and was a 4 year member
of the Linganore Chapter of the Future Farmers of America.

Andrew Solomon from Westminster Senior High. Andrew is following a family tradition and attending Penn State
where his mother went and his sister is currently attending. Andrew had a successful high school academic career, lettered
in 3 varsity sports and has worked his way through high school. He is interested in studying mechanical engineering, and he
would like to find a way to incorporate music and/or designing thrill rides into his engineering future.
